چکیده
Abstract The microstructure and mineralogy of volcanic rocks is varied complex, their mechanical behaviour similarly complex. This review summarises recent developments in our understanding the failure modes rocks. Compiled data show that, although porosity exerts a first-order influence on uniaxial compressive strength rocks, parameters such as partitioning void space (pores microcracks), pore crystal size shape, alteration also play role. presence water, strain rate, temperature can strength. We discuss merits micromechanical models (which includes available fracture toughness data). that effective pressure required for onset hydrostatic inelastic compaction decreases function increasing porosity, represents cataclastic collapse. Differences between brittle ductile (stress-strain curves evolution acoustic emission activity) from triaxial deformation experiments are outlined. Brittle typically characterised by shear formation, an increase permeability. Ductile either be distributed (cataclastic collapse) or localised (compaction bands) decrease tuffs deform delocalised cataclasis extrusive develop bands (planes collapsed pores connected microcracks). envelopes compactive yield caps compared, highlighting control stresses brittle-ductile transition shear-enhanced compaction. Distinct element modelling of the mechanical behaviour of intact rocks using voronoi tessellation model
This paper aims to study the mechanical behaviour and failure mechanism of intact rocks under different loading conditions using the grain based model implemented in the universal distinct element code (UDEC). The grain based numerical model is a powerful tool to investigate complicated micro-structural mechanical behaviour of rocks. In the UDEC grain based model, the intact material is simulat...
متن کاملwuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel
to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...

Petrography and chemistry of minerals showing that Eocene alkaline volcanic rocks in southwestern of Germi (Talesh zone, NW Iran) mostly have basaltic composition. Mineralogically these rocks are composed of diopsidic clinopyroxene and labradoritic plagioclase phenocrysts. The microlithic and glassy groundmass composed of sanidine, clinopyroxene, biotite, pargasitic amphibole and magnetite asso...
